How To Brew Pouchong Tea
Pouchong Tea has great flavor and taste, to spring out its advantages requires the correct method of brewing. The right way to brew the Pouchong Tea is as follows:
Preparation
Tea set:Pouchong tea is suited to be brewed with porcelain tea sets, a good porcelain tea set can present the tea’s fragrance. A special iron pot can be used to boil water, and the general pot is ok if there is no iron pot available.
Water:the best is spring water or well water, if there’s no such kind of water, then tap water is also ok. But do not use distilled water and pure water, because the brewed tea will has no taste. The running water has a smelling, you can leave it for 12 hours and then brew tea after the smell sent out. The temperature of water is between 95 and 100 degree.
Order for brewing Pouchong tea
- Boil the water first, wash the teapot and cup with the boiled water. If the temperature of body of teapot is too low, the temperature will drop so fast, and it will impact the quality of brewing tea.
- Put tea into the pot: put some Pouchong teas into teapot, the amount of tea is about one-third of volume of teapot, usually 6 grams Pouchong tea for a 150ml teapot.
- Infuse tea: pour 95 degree hot water into teapot, the first infusion lasts for 90~120s, then increase30s per infusion.
- Drink Pouchong tea: pour the brewed tea into a cup, if you couldn’t finish it all, the tea should be poured into another pot to avoid too heavy tasting.
My hobby is to boil water with iron pot, and pour into 150ml teapot with 6 gm Pouchong tea for the first 90s, and then increase 30s per infusion. You can adjust the time of brewing according to your own preferences, which is one of the pleasures of brewing Pouchong tea.
